インドでは牛にあらゆることを託している
インド地元メディアは、ドフリーナ村の農家宅より牛ふん800キロが盗まれ警察が大規模な捜査に乗り出したことを報じた。キロ単価2ルピー（約３円）、800キロで1600ルピー（日本円で約2400円）ほど。
治安の悪いインドでは実はよくあることで、化学肥料がインドの生産量では国内需要を満たせていないことから肥料として需要がある。
牛ふんは燃料としても優秀で非常に燃焼しやすく、発火点も低い。電力供給が遅れているインドでは、牛ふんは便利で安価な燃料。干し草を少し加え叩いて天日干しすることで家庭でよく使う燃料になります。形がケーキに似ていることから「牛ふんケーキ」とも呼ばれています。
牛ふん万能説爆誕
インドでは牛ふんは肥料や燃料だけではなく「神」のような存在。神像、牛ふん製の容器、照明、キーホルダーなどの牛ふん製品はとても人気がある。驚くことにインドでは牛ふんを添加した歯磨き粉、洗剤、石鹸、マスク、ヘアオイルなどの日用品や食品も作っている。
また、昨年10月ハリアナ州の公式団体GSAが新たに任命したGagoの責任者は記者会見で、牛ふんを主成分とする”人間のあらゆる病を治す”薬品を開発している発表した。
時を同じくして、RKA (RashtriyaKamdhu Aayog)が牛ふんでできた電子チップを発売するという、大きなブレイクスルーを発表した。 責任者VallabhbhaiKathiria氏は、この電子チップが携帯電話で利用できることが科学的に証明されたと述べている。電子部品は携帯電話から発生する電磁波を減らし病気の予防にもなると説明している。
牛ふんが携帯電話に使われる事を流石にインド人も疑ってはいる。しかし病気予防となると話は別だ。 新型コロナウイルスの発生以来、牛ふんの薬用効果が急速に発見され、インドの命綱となった。今年3月には、牛尿療法で新型コロナウイルスの感染を予防し、牛ふんや牛のし尿に入浴することで感染から守れるとの話が広まった。
インドの政府統計によると、インドでは毎日19億2000万キロの牛ふんが発生している。数量的には、インド人の新型コロナウイルス予防には十分なはずだ。しかし、昨日までにインドの新型コロナ感染者は3000万人を超え、39万人が死亡した。
インド人の考えのルーツは宗教。ヒンドゥー教でシバ神が乗っていたのは白い雄牛だった。シバ神は嵐と稲妻を支配し医薬と健康の神でもあり、牛は神聖性だけではなく健康をもたらすと考えられている。
インドの伝統医学では「牛尿療法」は癌、心臓病、腎臓問題などの疾病に対してすべて明らかな治療効果があると宣言している。信仰であれ、迷信であれ、病気を治せるかどうかは治療効果による。
